When do the ferries to and from Vis depart?
Jadrolinija is the largest Croatian ferry operator in the Adriatic. Please check their website for the most up to date timetables.

International lines
Jadrolinija sail Ancona/Split at 9-10pm 3/4 times a week depending on the season, and arrive near 6-7am in the morning in either direction. This gives you plenty of time to either catch your Ancona flight back to the UK or your ferry to Vis. During the summer months there is also a catamaran that runs overnight from Ancona direct to Vis, but it leaves near midnight in both directions, and only on Sundays.

Croatia lines
Jadrolinija car ferries run to and from Vis twice a day outside of peak season and three times a day during the summer. Times can vary depending on the day of the week, so check the timetables carefully to make sure you don't miss your connecting ferry/flight on the way back.

Jadrolinija also runs a catamaran that takes an hour and fifteen minutes and costs no more than the normal ferry - please check their website for the latest sailing schedules.

In the summer months, there are also ferries and catamarans connecting Vis to the islands of Hvar and Korcula, from where you can also catch ferries to Dubrovnik, or Istria in the north of the country.

Tickets can be bought over the phone, via the websites or on the day; however, if you wish to book a cabin overnight, it is advisable to book well ahead.
